Portrait of a Travis
Our friend, Chad Hurst, is a professional commercial photographer—you know, the kind of guy who gets jobs with The New York Times Magazine and such. And yet he's the humblest guy you'll ever meet. He's doing 30 portraits in 30 days on his new blog, and it's bound to be very inspiring. The first model? My husband Travis!
Check in at chadhurst.blogspot.com and get inspired all month long. And honestly, you really need to check out his portrait series of cancer survivors. It's amazing. He shot my father-in-law for this year's CanSurvive benefit, and I'll share that will you later.
A New Look for Ella
In case you haven't stopped by in a while, Ella got a facelift! This is also courtesy of my talented husband. (With help from Joe the Programmer, of course.) I'm thrilled with how it looks, and how it functions too. Tell all your friends! Oh, and if you'd like to enter a giveaway for an 8 x 8 hardcover photo book from Shutterfly.com, stop by the Ella blog.
Look How Cute
It's always fun to share a Keira pic. She loves her big brother. And this is what it looks like when he "watches" her for a second. It's more like she's watching him play video games. :)
Grammar Lesson of the Day
Yesterday, reporter Lisa Ling—whom I frequently confuse with Lucy Liu—said in a news story that someone "turned up missing." This is one they cover in Communications 101. Someone has either "turned up" or they're still missing—not both. The better choice is "went missing" or "has gone missing." Now you know! (Even if Lisa/Lucy doesn't.)
