The Write.Click.Scrapbook. gallery for February is now up! And the topic is mini-albums. My contribution this month is a a little fill-in-the-blanks album I created for Keira's birth mom for Christmas. Here's the full story.
You see, I'm taking a series of pictures of Keira with a teddy bear once a month to show her growth, and I send these and others to Anneliese each month. (Click photo strip for a larger view.)
While at the hospital, we gave Keira's birthmom the "mama" version of the same bear. Below you'll see one of my very favorite photos from the hospital (isn't she so darling?), and you can see the bear's head at the bottom of the frame. (There's also a pic of it in this post.)
So, when Christmas came around, we wondered what we could possibly give someone who has given us so much. Something handmade definitely seemed in order, and I thought Anneliese could use a place to collect these pictures. I included room at the front for some birth stats and some of her favorite photos from the hospital.
There you have it. I plan to make sure each monthly photo is vertical, so it will fit nicely in the space available in the album.
Note: I've featured this same general idea here on the blog before. Check it out here. And follow this next link for more ideas for creating a meaningful photo book as a gift for a friend or family member.
