I'm usually a scrapbook-at-home kind of person--in the privacy of my home and the comfort of my pajamas, with something playing on Hulu in the background. But every now and then, I do love the social aspect of a good crop. And every few months or so, I get together with some scrapping pals and try to crank out some pages and fill up on girl talk.
On Saturday, I met up with Wendy Smedley, Aly Dosdall, Deanna Billings, and Stephanie Pickle at my local scrapbook store, Heartfelt Creations, and here's what I made:
#1 One of my favorite layouts in YEARS, featuring photos taken by Travis.
The paper and stickers are by Echo Park Paper ("Summertime" line), the letter stickers are by American Crafts, and the buttefly punch is by Martha Stewart Crafts. I added a very subtle polka-dot background using a "Scrapblocks stamp by Cornish Heritage Farms.
And, I'm just starting the process of reorganizing my photos in Aperture (a higher-end photo organizing and editing program for the Mac--it's like iPhoto on speed). I created the collage VERY easily using the Light Box feature and printed it in minutes
#2 FINALLY, after 12 years, my own baby to add to my ongoing Baby & Me album
This album is an SEI Preservation Series 8 x 8 album. I gathered the supplies (which are mostly by Heidi Grace) years ago, when I started the album, and I just add to it when a new baby is born into the family.
#3 Updated pages for my Customizable Photo Planner, another ongoing project of mine.
Each month has a 6x8 page protector bound into the planner. For each month, the front side features photos from last year...
...and the back side features photos from this year. I love how this shows off our new fur baby in 2010 and our new REAL baby in 2011.
Here is my February 2010 page. It will be a week or two before I create the February 2011 page, but I promise to share when I do!
All in all, I completed seven layouts in the eight hours I was there. But let me tell you, there were plenty of breaks for meals, treats, and general advising on each others' layouts. Definitely one of my more productive crop experiences. I have a few others to share, but not today!
Celebrating my 7th anniversary. Time certainly flies.
NOT kissing my husband, who has had mono since Christmas, and apparently could still be contagious until the year 2013!
Trying to get Keira Jane on a nap schedule. She sleeps beautifully at night but prefers cat-napping during the day. (I believe we made some major progress today, however.)
Training for another half-marathon. (More on that story later.)
Appearing on a recent episode of the Paperclipping Roundtable. The topic? Albums. It's definitely a fun one. Go have a listen.
