The Craft & Hobby Association trade show has been just awesome to our little start-up company. The show is tiny compared to past years, which is unfortunate and could be due to many factors, but it's still energizing and inspiring for me. Everyone we've talked to about Ella Publishing Co. has been extremely enthusiastic and supportive! We got over 1,000 names on our mailing list in less than 24 hours, with the minimal promotion we've done through our blogs, Twitter, and Facebook.
We've been handing out our "ella mints" to everyone we meet.
We wore our "have you met ella t-shirts" all day, and last night we were invited to be on Paperclipping Newsbreak with hosts Noell Hyman and Nancy Nalley and fellow guest Ana Cabrera. Have a listen. Hopefully I don't sound too dorky.
Tonight, Katie Scott (friend of ella, scrapbooker, hostess extraordinaire, roomate, and one of the 8 lawyers we've consulted for our business) is throwing us a little party!
And I have to run because there are three of us in our room, and there are three laptops, but there's no wireless and only one network cable. So I better run.
And yes, you guessed it, Lain Ehmann is my partner and the CEO for Ella Publishing Co. We authored a book together last year that went down with the Simple Scrapbooks ship, and we were just inches away from having it picked up by Random House, thanks to a chance meeting with their Executive Craft Editor at CHA Winter in Anaheim. But, we have big plans for that content. Stay tuned for more!
